ThoughtStarter is a non-profit educational company with offices in Texas and Tennessee. ThoughtStarter’s mission is to incorporate cutting-edge and innovative teaching tools with conservative and faith based messages to positively impact students, families, and the future of our country.  "Informing and inspiring hearts and minds" is the goal.  Thoughtstarter's inaugural project is a website called CollegePrepAmerica.  

ThoughtStarter does not participate in campaign activity for or against political candidates and receives no aid from any level of government. It relies on the financial support of its donors.  Donations are 100% tax deductable.

Jeff Borders, Founder and President *

Jeff is the founder and President of ThoughtStarter and CollegePrepAmerica.org.  Prior to founding ThoughtStarter, Jeff has spent most of his career in media and entertainment.  Participating in various genres including Christian and Country music, his role as songwriter, arranger, producer and publisher has accounted for over 20 million units sold worldwide and numerous hit songs. He has worked with such artists and Martina McBride, Amy Grant and Point of Grace.  He has also owned and operated businesses in various market sectors including real estate development and music publishing.  Jeff is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and currently resides in Tennessee with his wife of 28 years and their two children.

David Breen ♦*

David Breen is a 26 year veteran of the Christian Music Industry.  Graduating from Belmont University with a degree in Music Business, David spent his first 7 years working as an agent for the William Morris Agency.  In 1998, he left William Morris to start his own company (The Breen Agency), where he represented 20 of the top Christian touring artist exclusively worldwide.  In 2009, David sold his agency to Warner Music Group’s Christian division Word Entertainment where he took on the position VP of Touring & Live Events. Over the past 6 years - he has developed their in-house booking agency (25 Artist Agency), a ticketing platform (FaithEvents) and produced tours in partnership with Mark Burnett & Roma Downey (THE BIBLE TOUR) and the nation's largest Christian radio network KLOVE RADIO (The KLOVE Christmas Tour).  David resides in Brentwood, TN with his wife Shelley who is a member of the Grammy Nominated group Point of Grace and their daughter Caroline.

Dr. Jimmy Davidson ♦

Dr. Davidson is a Professor Emeritus at Vanderbilt University.  With a Ph.D., M.S.  in Materials Science from Columbia University, he has served as Research Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. He has been involved in advanced electronic material technology development for more than 30 years. He has chaired international conferences and published numerous papers on CVD diamond technology development and applications.

Sharon Jacobs ♦

Sharon has served as a missionary for the past three decades, including 2½ years with Operation Mobilization in Europe on board the MV Doulos, and 24 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators in North and East Africa.  Sharon'?s accomplishments include the development of writing systems for unwritten Sudanese languages, management of five Sudanese Bible translation projects, and exemplary service as a human resources director for missionaries in Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.  Sharon has a unique combination of intuition and professionalism and has an infectious passion for people and the Word of God.  Sharon was born in South Africa and became a U.S. citizen when she married her husband Tom in 1990.  They have two wonderful sons.

Bruce Malone ♦

Bruce worked as a research leader for Dow Chemical Corporation for over 27 years and developed numerous innovations resulting in 18 patents.  He retired early from Dow Chemical to purse his passion - to bring science alive through stories and demonstrations with a Christian worldview.  Since 2008 Bruce has spoken over 300 times at numerous colleges and charities in 12 countries to more than 20,000 people.  Bruce currently resides in Midland, MI with his wife and four children.

Daniel Moran ♦*

Daniel Moran has spent the past 15 years developing, integrating, and delivering mission critical systems to customers around the world as a contractor for the Department of Defense.  Having worked in the United Kingdom and in China, Daniel has a worldview that goes beyond the borders of the U.S.  Daniel's work with two start-up companies in recent years has provided him direct experience in business development and managing client relationships.  Daniel resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and family.

Leon McWhorter ♦

A Marketing/Media-Public Relations executive with 20 plus years experience. A diverse background with all major networks (NBC, CBS, ABC-Disney) delivering fully integrated campaigns and individual content covering all media (radio, television, print) as well as digital outlets (social, mobile, web and app).

Jere D. Pewitt ♦*

Jere Pewitt is the former Executive Vice President and Senior Lending Officer at Franklin Synergy Bank.  Jere has been instrumental in the success of several community banks in Tennessee, including Williamson County Bank, Franklin National Bank, and Cumberland Bank. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.  He is a former officer and current member of Franklin Noon Rotary Club and serves as Treasurer of the Williamson County UT Alumni Association.  In addition, Jere serves on the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee of Christ Church.  He and his wife currently reside in Franklin, TN.  He has three grown children.

Eric Robishaw ♦

Eric is an experienced teaching pastor and graduate with honors of the Dallas Theological Seminary.  He is also the CTO and primary software engineer of Green Rain Technologies, Inc.  Eric has a diverse technological background, having worked for numerous major oil companies and the U.S. military. Eric has a passion for Israel, having lived and studied in Jerusalem.  Eric currently resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and three children.

Dana Tillman ♦

Dana Tillman has been involved in education since 1982. A graduate of Dallas Bible College, Tillman taught High School for four years.  Shortly after starting to home school his own children he and his wife Ellen founded the Richardson Home School Association in 1988 and was president for 4 years. Dana founded the North Texas Home Educator's Network (NTHEN) in 1989 and served as president for 2 years.  He served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC) from 1991 to 1999. Mr. Tillman is a veteran of the U. S. Navy, he has worked as a Technical Operations Manager and systems engineer for a major telecommunications company and taught for three years for Texas A&M Engineering Extension Services. Mr. Tillman started teaching his Worldview Classes in 1996.  This is a comprehensive, integrated honors level liberal arts curriculum that is fully integrated with a biblical worldview.
